As we enter a new phase in our training program, I want you to pause on the good work you have put in already. Today we will take some time to prep our bodies and minds for the SOLID workouts planned for this week.
Please consider the following today:
+Shop, prep, and plan your meals for this week
+Take inventory of your training nutrition + electrolytes and restock
+Check your shoes; "roughly" shoes last 3 months or 400-600 miles and when they start to break down they can cause stress to the lower legs; order new shoes if needed.
+Are you planning on using a piece of gear on race day that you haven't ordered/borrowed yet? If so, please get it this week.
+PT/Massage- If you have chronic imbalances, weaknesses, etc that require PT work or Sports massages, please schedule your appointments today and tackle anything in your body that needs your attention. This is how we stay ahead of getting injured/sidelined.
I know I'm missing a few things but hopefully you understand how important it is to be a student in ALL aspects of your training. We are not "just running" we are learning how to stand on the START line fully confident in the work we did on and off the trail. Tending to the daily needs you have in order to train your best is vital, so use today to do just that. You will NOT run today, you are resting, but you will be setting yourself up for success to make this a strong week!
