W16/D6- RACE DAY! LET'S GO!

5.0|45 min|81 comments
No doubts, only confidence. Stand tall at the Start line and breathe deeply and calmly. The adventure ahead is one you can't control, but one you can fully embrace. At times you'll feel amazing; at times you might feel terrible, but tell yourself now that you'll embrace it ALL. The goal is to simply move forward, one step at a time. If surprises pop up or challenges that feel overwhelming, remember, you are in control of how you react to those things so react with grace toward yourself and stay positive...most things that arise are simply situations that need solutions. Lastly, remember, who you are out there; You are strong and you CAN get to that Finish line. Break the race into 3 parts. The beginning, middle, and the end. Focus on only ONE part at a time; and save a little energy for the end. Think about the story you want to tell when it's all over...go write a great story my friend! Your already proud coach, Sally

I did it! I struggled with GI issues starting at mile 8. Wasn’t able to get anything other than small sips of water down for the remainder of the race. Normally, this kind of set back from my plan would have mentally derailed me but I stayed positive the ENTIRE race and honestly that is the biggest PR ever. My legs, lungs and mind were great…stomach not so much. Not the time I know I was capable of but I did it. THANK YOU SALLY!

I had so much fun in this race, 50k and struggled with knee pain for last half of the race. Powered through and I made it! My first 50k! I had an amazing support/crew, my husband who is an experienced ultra runner and introduced me to Sally!

Can't believe I've done it! Thank you so much Sally! I used the beginner version of this program for my 33K training. This was my longest race so far. I finished strong.

Crushed Race day, even with a rough crash around mile 8 that hurt my left quad and strained my right Achilles I still beat my goal time. Great training plan.
