I excelled in sports as a young kid but also found drugs and alcohol which would eventually lead me to quit sports in my early teens and head down a bad path. I barely made it through high school and ended up hitting rock bottom at 20 years old.
I got sober back in 2005 and knew I needed to find things to keep my mind occupied and get on a better path. I got really into Muay Thai kickboxing and Gracie Ju Jitsu which I loved. Around this time I became a kickboxing instructor and taught large classes for a few years. During this time I also became a certified personal trainer and started training clients one on one.
While training for an amateur Muay Thai fight, I discovered CrossFit and got really into it. It was a great way for someone like me who loved to compete and test themselves. Back in 2013 after completing in a small CrossFit competition, I got pretty sick which eventually led me to the hospital. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and right then and there my whole life changed.
Living life as a type 1 diabetic can be very challenging day to day. Then, you add in being really active like myself and it get even more challenging but I refuse to let it hold me down. It has been another challenge that I’ve faced along with drug addiction which I choose to overcome each day. That’s what life is all about. Facing adversity and rising above.
Since my diagnosis, I’ve continued doing some variations of high intensity training, functional strength training, bodybuilding, explosive training, mobility, and core training. My training style is all about being the most functional well rounded athlete as possible.
Since I started training clients one on one over 13 years ago and started my online programs in 2017, I have helped thousands and thousands of people all over the world just like you make lasting transformations physically and mentally.
I’m excited to be apart of your journey to becoming the best functional athlete possible. Let’s get to work!
