Hiiiii, I’m Liz! 😊 I’m a certified personal trainer, functional training specialist, & gym owner.
My journey with fitness has been life-long with SO many bumps in the road along the way.
As a kid, I was placed in nearly every sport you can think of. There was so much pressure to never mess up & even more so to always look pretty, thin, & impress those around me.
This led to eating disorders & obsessions with cardio at a young age (I mean, HELLO, y’all remember Tae Bo & Turbo Jam, right?! 😖)
Flash forward to my mid-twenties - I was an absolute mess. Still dealing with disordered eating, PLUS undiagnosed autoimmune disease, untreated mental illness, drug addiction, & an abusive relationship. I was at rock bottom.
Ironically, while up late partying, a friend suggested I look into becoming a personal trainer since people were asking me for workout tips anyways. I was hesitant, but eventually purchased the curriculum & passed my certification exam.
Once I started my first training job, I quickly realized how passionate I was about helping others. I realized I could help people use fitness as a tool not so much to achieve a specific look or take up less space, but to improve both their mental & physical health. I could help people have a positive relationship with fitness, to focus on getting stronger & moving better, as opposed to using it as a punishment.
The drug use stopped, therapy started, & I ended the abusive relationship.
Fitness truly helped save my life, & I know it can have a positive impact on yours as well.
On my channel, I’ll be incorporating elements of several different areas of fitness: traditional strength training, body building, functional training, conditioning, & more. I want to not only help you get stronger, but to gain mobility, balance, flexibility, & agility.
And most importantly, I want you to gain a positive relationship with working out. I’m all about this being ATTAINABLE & SUSTAINABLE.
