Welcome to Battle Ready, a series on the TrickStrong RX app designed to prepare you for the demands of high-level tricking battles and competitions. We will be releasing content periodically in this section in collaboration with some of the best minds in Tricking. Expect workshops, podcast interviews, warmups, workouts and full programs designed to get you Battle Ready. Why are we choosing to address the relatively small battling aspect of tricking? Battling is becoming much more popular lately, with competitions like Vertigo and Hooked putting out serious cash pools for their competitors. Even if you don’t expect to make top 16 this year, this section is dedicated to the process of becoming that competitor. You would be surprised how far some training and strategy can get you to closing the gap between yourself and the world’s most successful battlers. TrickStrong’s goal is to help athletes and artists Perform Without Limitations. Tricking battles are one of the most common ways tricking athletes not only get injured, but feel limited in their ability to perform at a high level. The goal with Battle Ready is to: 1) Help athletes compete at their highest level possible through physical and mental preparation 2) Educated athletes on the common pitfalls of battling so that they may avoid or mitigate injury 3) Raise the production value of battles at the competitor level (no one wants to watch two people repeatedly crashing for 90 seconds!) Battle Ready is designed is to improve the efficiency and quality of your battle training. These are your cliff notes on topics like physical preparation, skill acquisition, combo construction, mindset, stage presence, strategy and more so that you crush your opponent. Let’s get it ⚔

Physical Therapist & Tricking Athlete

Neil Toussaint is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Athletic Trainer, Health and Wellness Coach to top performers in the Atlanta TV/Film industry. He has also served the Broadway performing arts community in productions such as Wicked, Moulin Rouge, Lion King & more. He got his start in the athletic performance and recovery world through the practice of Martial Arts Tricking. Tricking is an acrobatic discipline combining movements from martial arts, gymnastics, breakdancing, and more. As a Tricking Athlete of 17+ years, he is passionate about helping his clients live a life without limitations. TrickStrong RX is the premier performance and recovery platform for the functional, movement-based athlete looking to get more out of their training. We have combined our unique experience as both tricking athletes and Doctors of Physical Therapy to create our catalog of exercise tutorials, follow-along programs, podcasts, anatomy tutorials, mindset videos, workshops and more available on RX.

Do I need to purchase equipment?
It depends on the workout! Playbook has a lot of workouts that require no equipment. We also have workouts that require minimal equipment (like dumbbells or a yoga mat) and some that require weight-lifting machines. There’s something for everyone — regardless of equipment — to help you get in shape.
