Great drill. This series is great. I used a simple curl around a down screen in a game the other day and it got us 2 points.

Our defender has now done a good job getting over the screen and back in front.  So it’s our job to create more space to shoot.  This is where a great step back comes in.  Really use your one dribble to drive downhill first and then step backwards.  It will leave your defender off balance to be able to create the space you need to shoot.  This is important to stay on balance when you step back to shoot properly!  25 makes from mid range and 3 from both left and right wings.

After our one dribble shot is being defended we need to create more space.  So now we add the step back.  When you go downhill quickly, stop, and step back it’s a lethal move.  But you need to go at a good pace and make your downhill move believable.

Good drill. A little tricky without partners, but a stationary object and spinning the ball to myself worked as well.

Day 1- Regular cut

Good drill. Pretty difficult to do without a partner, though.

Day 2- Straight cut

Had some people help this time and it was way easier. If my defender cheats under on the screen, can I flare out for an open three?

Day 3- Curl Cut

I liked that drill. These are also a good way to improve on 3 point shots.

Day 4- Fade Cut

Good drill. I will definitely be able to use it in a game.

Day 5- One dribble shot

Great last drill. I do have a question though. What should I do if the defenders switch on the down screen?
