The DIP Definition:
A lot of coaches discourage players from performing a DIP while they shoot because they believe it slows a player's shot down.

At Global Squad, we teach the DIP because we believe a player is only as slow as their HOP not their DIP. Think about it. A player doesn't HOP, land on both feet, then execute a long/slow DIP. They HOP and as they're returning to the ground, they are already bringing that basketball to the bottom of their DIP. All that's left to do is elevate into their shot. 

If you're still hesitant to teach the DIP, watch videos of players like Ray Allen, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant. All of them use a quick and effective DIP.
