About the program

There's so much to learn about our new bodies – they change and endure so much over 12+ months from conception, to growing a baby, to birthing a baby, and surviving the 4th trimester. If you're hoping to get back to to running regularly postpartum, it's important to take things super slow. Let me say that a little louder for the people in the back... SUPER SLOW. No mater how "easy" pregnancy went, how "smooth" your birth went, or how "good" your body feels right now, I need you to imagine you're starting from 0. In this two-part program, we're going to build from ground up – building to 45+ minute runs. In Phase 1, we'll take the first 12 weeks to build strength and rehab the core via weekly walking, stretching, and strength. At the end (the 10-week or 12-week mark), you'll need to pass a "fit test" before you add any high-impact running. During Phase 2, we'll continue with weekly strength and stretching then add jogging intervals until we make our way up to 45-minute easy runs. Let's do this, mama. 👋

    About Emily Gokita

    Pre/Postnatal Certified Personal Trainer

    Hi, I'm Emily! 👋 I’m a fitness professional and certified personal trainer with over 15 (!!) years of experience leading different movement formats starting with Zumba Fitness in 2009, expanding to cardio boxing, yoga, run coaching, HIIT, cycling, and more over the years. As a person currently in their marathon-mom-era, I'm passionate about helping others find joy and strength through movement. My primary focus is strength-building workouts with boxing and yoga flare – great cross-training for runners and mother runners on their postpartum journey. In my 18 months postpartum, I got myself to several big start lines healthy (miles, trail races, half marathons, and two marathons). Along the way, I've helped a number of moms do the same – get to start lines injury-free, well on their way to setting lifetime PRs. Let me help you get there too.
