About the program

Functional fitness was a term developed to promote strength training combined with cardiovascular endurance that promotes strength in every day life. The workouts in this program require you to use multiple muscle groups simultaneously so they can work together for daily activities, improved strength, mobility & balance. Whether you have access to a gym with a barbell, rig, machines etc OR you're an at-homer, you can participate in this program! There will be substitute movements/options for people at home with minimal equipment, and more advanced movements/options for people with access to more equipment or at a higher level. You'll utilize a combination of exercises using: bodyweight movements, barbells, boxes, medicine balls, kettlebells, dumbbells, cardio machines & more.     Hey there, I’m Manders! So happy you’re here & hope this app helps you fall in love with moving your body. A little about me.. I’ve been a CrossFit coach for 6 years, alongside my true passion which is nutrition! I’m a certified Nutritionist, NTP and work for Black Iron Nutrition as a lead coach. I’ve also competed in CrossFit and weightlifting over the years and love helping people achieve their strength goals.     Who are these workouts for (skill-level)?
    * The workouts are designed for all levels * Beginners: go slow, use less weight, use longer rest periods, and focus on form * Advanced: increase weight, reps and reduce rest time as you progress
    How will I get the best results?
    * Get proper sleep (7-9 hours a night is a must) * Dedicated nutrition regimen that consists only of wholesome, natural ingredients (get my nutrition guide in “Insights” section of the app) * Drink at least eight 8 oz glasses of water daily * Make sure to use active and full rest days to allow muscles to recover * Ice cold showers in the morning and after workouts are highly recommended
