What is HYROX, and is this plan suitable for beginners?
Yes! HYROX is a hybrid fitness race combining running with functional workout stations. This beginner plan is designed to build your foundation—strength, cardio endurance, and movement efficiency—so you can confidently complete HYROX-style sessions without feeling overwhelmed. Everything is scaled and approachable for all fitness levels.
Do I need any special equipment to follow this plan?
You’ll need access to basic functional training equipment found in most gyms: sleds (or a low-friction substitute), dumbbells, kettlebells, wall balls, a rower, and a ski erg. If you don’t have certain pieces, please message me and my team for some simple swaps!
How many times per week should I do the workouts?
This beginner plan is structured for 5 workouts per week, including your runs. This frequency allows you to build endurance and strength without burning out. Rest days are built in to support recovery and help you progress safely.
I’m not a strong runner—will I still be able to follow this
Absolutely. Running portions are scaled by time or effort, not speed. You can jog, run/walk, or even substitute low-impact cardio (bike, row, ski) depending on your current level. The goal is steady improvement, not perfection.
How long will it take to see progress?
Most beginners start noticing improvements in 3–4 weeks, such as better stamina, smoother transitions between stations, and increased confidence with HYROX movements. Consistency is key—follow the plan, listen to your body, and your progress will compound quickly.
