Join me, Coach Kerri, as I lead Yogis through gentle sessions each week intended for us to connect to our physical sensations, maintaining awareness in the present moment, and helping us to release tension and create headspace.
We start each session with a few deep breaths to settle into our bodies and breath, and run through a body scan to get a sense of the mood and energy we are brining to our mat. We slowly add hugs, twists, folds, bends, arches and curls. I create sequences of movements that aim to move energy, clearing blockages in our body and mind.
We pay attention to our breath, using it to guide the depth and intensity of our poses, and make note of areas of discomfort and micro changes in physical sensations that remind us of progress. We work to maintain our presence in the moment, noting distractions and gently bringing our awareness back to our body and breath.
We use our breath throughout the practice to guide the depth and intensity of our poses and to maintain our inner balance. We breathe in curiosity and vitality with each inhalation and let go of judgement, competition, and expectation with each exhalation.
We honour the state of our body, celebrating what we can do .... not worrying about what we can't. Namaste.
