Heart Medicine is a 4 week back bending series. This series increases strength, flexibility & mobility through a blend of back bend focused drills and full flows. Additionally, we explore themes each week both on and off of the mat with meditations, pranayamas, and journal prompts. About Kayla Nielsen

Teacher, entrepreneur & creator practicing yoga both on & off of the mat.

I am a yoga teacher, humanitarian, and entrepreneur who is dedicated to serving people, animals, and the planet through environmental service. As the daughter of a yoga teacher, I have been practicing yoga asana for . Over time, the practice of Yoga has expanded beyond the physical & into a mental, spiritual, and holistic approach to life. I’ve accumulated over 1,000 hours of training from a variety of schools, styles, and methodologies around the world including: Baptiste Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Budokan, Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reiki, and Yogic Philosophy. In the last 9 years, I’ve crafted a unique style by pulling bits and pieces from my continuous study and my own life’s evolution. I share my in-person offerings through international retreats and YTTs with my business GLOW Yoga Retreats. Additionally, I own and operate my own retreat center, Still Salty Escape, located in Northern Nicaragua. I hope you can practice with me in person one day soon!

Frequently asked questions

What level is this series?
Generally intermediate level classes, although some of the classes are also suitable for beginners. Please check all descriptions for complete details.
Can I try this series if I'm new to back bends?
You can definitely try the drills, meditations, and pranayamas! However, I'd only enter into the full flows if you consider your yoga practice to be intermediate.
What postures will we work on in this series?
Peak Postures: Camel, Kapotasana, Wild Thing, Wild Thing to Wheel, Dancer, King Pigeon, Floor Bow, King Dancer.
What parts of the body are we focusing on in this series?
