Beginner classes are designed for those just starting their yoga journey. Please note if a class is marked "Beginner/Moderate," as these sessions will be slightly more challenging than Beginner. Beginner level classes are also great for regular practitioners, as well. Modifications, deeper variations, and props are always offered.

About Kayla Nielsen

Online personal trainer

I am a yoga teacher, humanitarian, and entrepreneur who is dedicated to serving people, animals, and the planet through environmental service. As the daughter of a yoga teacher, I have been practicing yoga asana for . Over time, the practice of Yoga has expanded beyond the physical & into a mental, spiritual, and holistic approach to life. I’ve accumulated over 1,000 hours of training from a variety of schools, styles, and methodologies around the world including: Baptiste Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Budokan, Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reiki, and Yogic Philosophy. In the last 9 years, I’ve crafted a unique style by pulling bits and pieces from my continuous study and my own life’s evolution. I share my in-person offerings through international retreats and YTTs with my business GLOW Yoga Retreats. Additionally, I own and operate my own retreat center, Still Salty Escape, located in Northern Nicaragua. I hope you can practice with me in person one day soon!

Frequently asked questions

Are Beginner classes good for someone who's never practiced yoga before?
Yes! These classes are made for you! Even if you're moving your body in new ways for the first time, these classes are designed to explore that initial exploration of the practice.
What's the difference between Beginner/Moderate and Beginner?
Beginner/Moderate means the class will be SLIGHTLY more challenging (good for someone who has taken around 2 - 3 yoga classes before). Beginner classes will move in a way that assumes it is your first time practicing yoga.
Are Beginner classes good even for Intermediate and Advanced students?
Absolutely! Not only is it great to revisit and refine the foundations, but it's also great to slow down and change up your practice. If you're always practicing super challenging, fiery Vinyasa classes- sometimes the greater challenge lies in slowing down and being with yourself and your breath.
