Katie: Personal Trainer & HIIT Coach
Hi, I’m Katie, a former equestrian turned personal trainer and fitness enthusiast. Growing up I rode horses competitively on the A circuit and in the IHSA. I was fortunate enough to compete in multiple national finals and qualified for IHSA nationals in three of my four years at Hollins University.
As a teenager and young adult, I battled eating disorders. For years I was afraid of food, I hated my body, and I lacked confidence. At the beginning of my weightlifting journey, I would restrict food and work out as hard as my malnourished body would allow. I had the distorted mindset that my worth was built on the size of my body so I was determined to be the smallest person in the room. It took time for me to realize that the reason I wasn’t seeing results was due to a lack of proper nutrition.
As time progressed I learned to fuel my body properly and the results followed. I had more energy, I was getting stronger, I liked the way my body looked, I felt confident, and my mood improved. My mindset shifted from wanting to be the smallest person in the room to wanting to be healthy and strong!
My mission is to help others find that balance. Fitness should be enjoyable and empowering! Food should be viewed as fuel, not the enemy! I want to help every member of the Foolproof Fitness community find a balance between nutrition, fitness, and life so they can feel their most confident and healthy both in and out of the gym.
