I’m a former varsity soccer player, hybrid athlete, coach, and professional overachiever. I’ve always loved having a goal to chase. Whether it was competitive sports growing up (you name it, I did it) or trying to shave a few more minutes off my marathon time, I’ve always been fascinated by seeing what I’m capable of. So far, that’s led me to run a 3:08 in my first marathon, a 3:03 in my second, compete in HYROX Pro, and set my sights on breaking 3 hours in the marathon (all while continuing to get stronger and more powerful). One thing I’ve never understood is why people think they have to choose between strength and endurance. I don’t want to be just a runner, and I don’t want to be just a lifter. I want to see how good I can become at both. That’s exactly why I built the ASCEND App.

Plus, trainers walk you through all exercises with easy-to-follow videos and simple written instructions. This means you’ll be able to do all the moves easily, accurately, and safely.
Do I need to purchase equipment?
It depends on the workout! Playbook has a lot of workouts that require no equipment. We also have workouts that require minimal equipment (like dumbbells or a yoga mat) and some that require weight-lifting machines. There’s something for everyone — regardless of equipment — to help you get in shape.
