Hiiii babes!
While any form of cardio can be effective, my personal favorites are incline walks and the stair master! Lately, I’ve also been incorporating running because of my Hyrox training — I hate it but I love it LOL. Pro tip: a great playlist helps!!
Ever since prep, I’ve been obsessed with early morning fasted cardio. It’s a way for me to clear my head for the day and also to get some work done! Above all, do what feels best in your body — whether that’s choosing to do your cardio fasted or not / before or after your workout / decreasing or increasing levels & speed. Cardio works best when you align it with your goals.
If you’re trying to gain weight, I suggest limiting cardio whereas if you’re looking to cut, increasing cardio can be beneficial. Adding cardio before your workout often leads to an increase in your muscular endurance while adding cardio after tends to focus more on building muscle strength. That said, either way, you’re improving your overall fitness.
Regardless of goals, I aim to hit 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day — because above all, getting your heart pumping greatly increases the longevity and quality of your life, so take this as your encouragement to get your body moving!!!
