A little about me- I didn’t grow up playing sports but stayed active with hiking and skiing. My mom cooked healthy meals, but when I went to college, I indulged in junk food and quickly gained 20 pounds. Unhappy, I turned to step aerobics and the fat-free food trend but lacked real nutritional knowledge.
In my 20s, I fell in love with mountain biking—mainly as an excuse to enjoy beer and pizza on the weekends. By my 30s, I discovered CrossFit and the Zone diet, starting to pay more attention to nutrition, though I still equated effective workouts with being drenched in sweat.
After gestational diabetes with both pregnancies in my 30s, a high A1C in my mid-40s became a wake-up call to truly understand nutrition and exercise. At 50, I embraced weightlifting and fell in love with its transformative power. Now, I lift three days a week, mountain bike, and play hockey. I’ve never felt stronger or healthier!
For over 18 years, I’ve been training women in my garage and hold a National Academy of Sports Medicine certification. My husband, who has a Master’s in Nutrition, and I are excited to share our methods with you. We’ll offer programs for beginners with no equipment to advanced athletes with fully equipped gyms!
