About Steve Maze

Doctor of Physical Therapy and Strength Coach

Steve Maze, PT, DPT, MS, CSCS Creator of the Maze Method™ I help busy adults build strength, eliminate pain, and improve performance without wasting time in the gym. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Strength & Conditioning Specialist, I’ve seen the gap between rehab and fitness. Most people either train hard and get hurt… or move cautiously and never get stronger. The Maze Method™ bridges that gap. This system is built on three principles: 1. Efficient training (20–40 minute sessions) 2. Pain-safe strength development 3. Long-term durability over short-term hype Inside this platform you’ll find structured phases that progress intelligently — starting with a foundation build, then layering strength, conditioning, and performance. No random workouts. No fluff. No burnout programming. Every session is designed to improve: • Movement quality • Core stability • Joint integrity • Strength and conditioning • Longevity Whether you’re training at home with minimal equipment or rebuilding after pain, the Maze Method™ gives you a clear plan. Start with Phase 1. Build your base. Progress with purpose. Strong. Durable. Efficient.

Frequently asked questions

How long are the workouts?
Most sessions take 20–40 minutes. If you’re short on time: • Complete the main strength work first • Add conditioning only if time allows Consistency > duration.
What if I can only train twice per week?
That’s fine. Do: • Day 1 • Day 2 The following week: • Day 3 • Day 1 Keep rotating forward. Never restart. Just keep moving.
What if I miss a week?
Pick up where you left off. Do not restart the entire phase unless you were off for 3+ weeks. Momentum matters more than perfection.
What if I feel pain?
Muscle fatigue = normal Joint pain or sharp discomfort = not normal Adjust by: • Reducing load • Slowing tempo • Decreasing range of motion If pain persists, switch to the Pain-Safe / Low Back track. No ego lifting here.
When should I move to Phase 2?
After completing all 4 weeks. If: • Your lifts feel more stable • Your conditioning feels easier • Your form looks cleaner You’re ready. If not — repeat Phase 1. Strong foundations create long-term results.
Should I do extra cardio?
Optional. If fat loss or endurance is a goal: • Add 1–2 light Zone 2 sessions per week • Keep them easy If strength and recovery are priorities: • Focus on lifting well
Is this good for beginners?
Yes. Phase 1 is designed to: • Teach clean movement • Build stability • Improve strength safely Advanced lifters can simply load heavier and focus on tempo control.
What results should I expect in 4 weeks?
You should notice: • Improved stability • Better posture • Increased strength • Less stiffness • Better energy The goal isn’t transformation in 4 weeks. The goal is building a base that lasts years.
What should I focus on most?
Quality of movement. Every rep is practice. Move with intention. Brace your core. Control the weight. Strength is built through discipline, not randomness.
