Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be fit to start skipping?
Nope! When I first started skipping I was incredibly unfit. I used skipping as a tool to help increase my cardio ability and stamina.
How long should I skip every day?
When you are first starting out I recommend taking at least one day of rest in between each session. Start where you can but I recommend 5 minutes of 30 seconds on followed by 30 seconds of rest to start out and slowly increase from there to build your resilience.
What rope should I use?
I recommend purchasing a beaded rope and 5mm pvc rope. If you only have budget for one rope then make it a beaded rope! All the ropes I use are linked in the description box above.
Do I need a mat?
If you are planning to jump on a hard surface like concrete I would recommend purchasing a jump rope mat if you can. If you can't, make sure you are limiting the length of your sessions and you are keeping your jumps as low as possible to avoid injury. The mat I use is linked in the description box above.

Super informative! I love that you included the bit about the burning technique because I have been a victim of burning it flat and it doesn’t fit through the washer 😅
