Personal Trainer + Fitness Nutrition

Sam's passion for fitness was the first to take off. After years of growing up believing that fitness meant hours of cardio, she began competing in the Miss America Organization and earned the title of Miss New Hampshire 2013. It was then that she worked with her first-ever personal trainer and learned the importance of weightlifting and dieting. But after her year as Miss New Hampshire came to an end, and her restrictive diet came to an end, she was right back where she had started. You can't outwork a poor diet and you can’t sustain a restrictive diet. She decided to compete again in the Miss USA Organization and was a top-5 runner-up to Miss NH USA two years in a row. While training for these pageants, her focus turned toward nutrition. For competition's sake, dieting and exercising came easy--there was always a goal and a deadline. Post-competition, however, was when all of the real work began in finding a balance between having physical goals and living a life that was free from restrictive dieting, calorie and macro tracking, and 2-a-day gym sessions. Sam earned her personal training certification and fitness nutrition certification in 2017 and since then has helped dozens of men and women stop obsessing and start enjoying their fitness and nutrition routines and habits. As a coach, she customizes and explains the benefits of a well-rounded workout regimen, breaks down the basics of nutrition and how to eat for your specific goals, and puts an emphasis on stress management, sleep, and self-talk.

Do I need to purchase equipment?
It depends on the workout! Playbook has a lot of workouts that require no equipment. We also have workouts that require minimal equipment (like dumbbells or a yoga mat) and some that require weight-lifting machines. There’s something for everyone — regardless of equipment — to help you get in shape.
