Week 1: For our dog to have fun learning place and going to place when we tell them, we have to start with 1 word. We will focus on conditioning the word “yes” inside. It is very important to do this exercise with your dog inside with no distractions. Our goal within this week is to see a reaction from our dog when we say yes. A few examples of our dogs reaction when they have been classically condition with the word yes are the dog salivates, the dog shows more excitement whenever he or she hears the word yes. The dog starts to look at you more often.

Yes means the dog did one thing and its going to get rewarded for that one thing it did.

What is “yes” for the dog?

Our goal is to condition the words yes. Words first then move and reward. We want to see excitement from the dog when they hear “yes”.

Word first “yes” then take the action to reward the dog. Keep it short & fun.

Week 1: For dogs with high energy we can throw the food & say yes when they are on their way back to us.
