I grew up in a Notre Dame family, named after Knute Rockne, idolizing Joe Montana. Football was my proving ground. As a kid wearing #3 I dreamed big: national titles, Heisman Trophy, Super Bowls all of it. I worked my tail off, grinding through practices and earning wins. College tested me, I saw scout team success as a freshman, then a sophomore year derailed by injuries. I almost quit, but I didn’t. I hit the weight room, showed up early, stayed late and kept pushing, even when playing time didn’t come. Junior and senior years, I continued to keep showing up everyday. Senior year I asked my position coach “What do I have to do to get more playing time?” His response “Rock coach just doesn’t want to play you” but I didn’t let that stop me. I kept showing up. Football taught me discipline: pads on, reps in, no excuses. After college, I chased finance and sales, stumbled, but never stopped growing. COVID flipped the script. I joined my mom’s Physical Therapy practice and found my calling: coaching. My path wasn’t Joe Montana’s. I was on my own journey, built on sweat and lessons earned the hard way.
