We have already introduced part 1 of our playing off the catch series, but like we said before, the majority of the game is played off of catch!

In this workout we focus on:
• Split catch
• Exchanges

3 Dribble Series - Right Hand

3 Dribble Series - Left Hand

3 Dribble Series

The game is fast, and often times you don’t have much time to adjust to what the defense is doing. This circuit provides variables that will force you to adjust on the fly.

10 reps

• Drop the ball from waist level
• On the 2nd bounce secure the ball as close to the ground as you can
• Perform a 2 dribble stop exchange

2 Bounce to Split Catch - Right Hand

2 Bounce to Split Catch - Left Hand

2 Bounce to Split Catch

We need to be able to change directions more than one way. Challenge your handle as you change your exchanges each rep!

Make 5
**Change your exchanges & finishes every time**

• Perform a split catch to the right
• Get to a 1 dribble exchange - DIFFERENT EXCHANGE EVERY TIME
• Get to a DIFFERENT FINISH EVERY TIME

Split Catch to 1 Dribble Exchange Finishes

Make 5
**Change your exchanges & finishes every time**

• Perform a split catch to the left
• Get to a 1 dribble exchange - mix up your exchanges
• Get to a different finish at the rim every time

Being able to utilize a split catch can make you quicker getting down hill. This segment challenges your feet to get into a split catch quickly.

Make 5 pull ups

• Start w/ the ball in your left hand
• Perform to BTL dribbles
• Replace your feet & get to your split catch
• 1 dribble pull

Make 5 pull ups

• Start w/ the ball in your right hand
• Perform to BTL dribbles
• Replace your feet & get to your split catch
• 1 dribble pull

Here’s a drill that allows you to work on shooting off the catch while you work out on your own.

Make 5

• Start w/ your right foot back
• Tods the ball towards the elbow
• Do not go until the ball contacts the ground
• Step right-left-right into your pull

Self Toss to Pull

Make 5

• Start w/ your left foot back
• Tods the ball towards the elbow
• Do not go until the ball contacts the ground
• Step left-right-left into your pull
