Yoga, Breath and Meditation Guide

Inspired by the rhythms of the natural world, Rebecca Jo guides her students into their own innate patterning through practices of breath awareness, supportive movement and meditation.  Within each class she emphasizes the need to slow down and create a space for oneself that is both comforting and sacred.              Rebecca earned her 200hr yoga certification in 2009 while living on a self-sustained farm in the mountains of Spain.  She began her teaching practice in New York City, working privately with individuals recovering from injury; supporting them in finding acceptance and peace within their bodies as they redeveloped their physical strength and range of motion. Her practice is informed by the teachings of Abbie Galvin + Nevine Michaan of Katonah Yoga®, Tom Myers, Tias Little, Ana Forrest and BKS Iyengar among others.  Trained in the arts of dance, photography, and breath-centered movement she incorporates a lifetime of lessons into each class and encourages her students to integrate practices of conscious flow into daily life. A life long traveler and eternal student, she seeks opportunities to immerse herself in new experiences and discover different ways of seeing the world.  She has led retreats and workshops in Mexico, Costa Rica, Morocco, NYC, LA and Denver.  Rebecca is currently living and breathing in Denver, CO where she is honored to share her practice and teachings with the students of Lacuna Yoga. She offers private one on one therapeutic yoga and breath sessions in person and virtually.
Goals
Through my videos I will share new approaches to the way you move and breath your way through the day. We’ll use movement practices, breath exercises and meditation to tap into the habits and patterns that inform our daily lives and work through ways of supporting ourselves in a more holistic, healthy way. Create stability in your life, learn how to set boundaries on and off of the mat, and gain insight into your own psychology. Expect to be challenged but supported the whole way.
Training Requirements
Props will vary for each class. A few basic props to have handy are: A mat Blocks Blanket Strap Chair Pole Wall BUT, most of my practices can be adapted to work with what you have where you are. If you’re not sure how, just ask!
Accomplishments
Certified Yoga Teacher w/ 10 years of teaching experience. Programming Director for Lacuna Juice and Yoga 200 hr YTT Lead Teacher International Retreat Leader Private therapeutic movement and breach coach. Years of experience in injury and trauma recovery. 7 years experience studying and training in Katonah Yoga (full certification coming really soon!) BFA in photography working toward a PhD in Psychology.
