Basketball Skills Trainer
Mychal's basketball journey began at The Meadows School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he led his school to four state championships from 2003-2007 under respected Head Coach Greg Goorjian. His exceptional skills earned him recognition as one of Nevada's top players, with multiple All-Conference and All-State MVP awards during high school.
Continuing his journey, Mychal played over 40 games at Yavapai Community College, gaining valuable experience on the court. He then transferred to the top-ranked 25 UNLV, playing under future hall-of-fame coach Lon Kruger and making multiple NCAA tournament appearances. This elevated his understanding of the game, inspiring him to transition into youth basketball coaching.
In 2012, Mychal co-founded Colorado Premier Basketball Club with former NBA star Keith Van Horn. Premier is the largest youth basketball organization in the Rocky Mountain region, competing on the prestigious Nike Girls EYBL circuit. In 2016, Mychal opened Hoop Academics, focusing on his passion for skill development and mentoring young athletes on a more personal level.
For the past decade, Mychal has been dedicated to giving back to the Colorado basketball community, serving as both a trusted trainer and advisor to top players and programs, helping them improve their skills and navigate recruiting.
Currently, he resides in his hometown of Las Vegas and operates Hoop Academics as both an online and in-person service, offering online skills training options, camps, and clinics, while also assisting high school athletes with marketing themselves to college coaches.
