About the program

This road to 10k is a time-based running program built for people who want to begin running from zero to longer distances and ultimately be able to achieve 10k plus mileage. You will work up to around 1 hour of constant running. This can be done on the road or on a treadmill, whichever suits your needs and schedule most. Road is recommended! It is geared towards a beginner runner and is composed of running and walking along with daily tips to help gain a good understanding of the goal behind achieving greater distances and paces. Each week includes 1 speed/tempo session and 1 long run.

    What do I need to be able to complete this program?
    All you need is a good pair of running shoes and your time. This program does not require a watch and/or heart rate monitor to be successful. Those are a bonus! *Can be completed on a treadmill as well.
    What is the schedule?
    The schedule is flexible based around your schedule. It is 4 days a week of planned runs planned around making sure you have proper rest and proper progression. You can adjust days if needed, but I would try to stick to the pre-planned schedule as best as you can.
