Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to eat dairy-free?
NOPE! I have a dairy allergy so my recipes all include milk substitutes, but feel free to use 2% milk instead.
Where do I start with nutrition?
My recommendations: - Stay ABOVE 1300 calories as too little has adverse affects on your body. Be mindful of your portions. - Be mindful of your portion sizes. If you have trouble estimating your consumption, try measuring serving sizes out based on the nutrition label. - Try to eat protein and a veggies during every meal - Aim for 3 meals plus 2 small snacks a day - Stay away from processed foods, added sugars, and fried/breaded foods. - Restricting to an all-or-nothing mentality can lead to binging. Instead, try for 80%+ clean, 20% not of clean foods.
How many calories should I eat in a day?
Calorie numbers are VERY customized per person based on your age, gender, activity level, body composition and more. The important thing to note is that you need to eat less calories than you burn per day - BUT burning is not just working out. You burn a LOT of calories throughout the day just living.
