Hi there! 👋 So, picture this: I'm 50, fit and feeling fabulous - 6 pack abs, able to do pull-ups, pistol squats, a one-arm push-up (on the left side, still working for that right side) Then BAM! Perimenopause hits like a surprise party I didn't want. For me, it meant 3 inches of belly fat in 3 short weeks, then navigating some unexpected and very undesirable things like anxiety/depression, panic attacks, brain fog, body composition changes, and extreme fatigue for the next 2 years. I couldn't work out, physically or emotionally. I lost all I had gained - the abs, the push-up, the pull-ups, and the pistols. I was living in a body I didn't recognize with a mind that focused on fear and negativity. Something had to change.
So, I let go! I let go of perfection, I released stuck emotions, I cultivated self-compassion, and left behind who I thought I was to get excited about who I could become.
I began to reinvent myself, and this is where I started!! Pull-ups!!
So, here's to round two of my health and fitness journey!! Starting from scratch and getting those pull-ups back!! This is exactly how I did it, and I thought, "Why not share this with the world so I can help whoever I am blessed to help!!"
