Hi! I’m Jess Sylvia, an NYC-based Pilates teacher and Certified Personal Trainer. After 11 years with a home base in Los Angeles and a work life on the road, I decided to pursue a full-time career in fitness. I moved to NYC full time to continue my studies with the world’s top Pilates school, Power Pilates. I am currently both certified by and teaching at their flagship location in Manhattan. When you partner with me, you not only get a killer workout, but you learn the art of Contrology, the original name for Pilates. These exercises teach you to control even the smallest muscles within your body, and strengthen your connection not only with your core, but also with your mind. You can expect a blend of Classical and Contemporary Pilates workouts. I’m open to suggestions and requests, so please don’t hesitate to ask! :) In case it’s not clear, I’m a total Pilates nerd. When I’m not practicing, you can find me e-skating around the city, exploring new art installations, or indulging in oysters & bubbly (my fave!). Sucker for all things soft & cozy, a great lip balm, and french fries.

Training Requirements

Most of my workouts can be done with just you and cushy mat at home. Pilates is usually done on a thick mat, so the juicier the better! Optional Props: • light weights • resistance bands • yoga blocks • sliders (or hand towels!) • foam roller
