Hello! I am an occupational therapist from South Africa who is also a qualified yoga and Pilates teacher. I am incredibly passionate about the human body and how to get your body moving in fun and interesting ways that will not only help limit injury but also help you find a freedom to move that you perhaps have not had before. My yoga flows are creative and engaging and I spend a lot of time thinking through unusual transitions- you will be flowing in new ways throughout. My Pilates teaching is heavily focused on the core and building that strong foundation that will influence all your movement going forwards. I am always open to feedback on how I can better cater to what this community is looking for and to provide classes that allow you to explore your body and movement.
The main thing you will gain in my classes is a confidence in moving your body through tapping into and learning your body. By training with me I hope to give you a sense of freedom in your body that you did not have before- this could be through a variety of elements such as increased range of motion or learning more about what is possible in your body. My classes are strength building and you will learn new skills through mobility drills and inversions which are common in my classes.
Training Requirements
All classes can be done at home. You will need your body and your yoga mat. I do give variations with blocks- these can be left out if you do not have them, alternatively you can use a small stack of boxes to replicate blocks.
BSc Honours Occupational Therapy from the University of Cape Town in 2021. 200 hour certified yoga instructor in 2019. Basic mat Pilates certified in 2022.
