I started Lift like a Girl because growing up I was super skinny and the complete opposite of athletic. I was "girly" and constantly reminded of that. I was always being told "your such a girl" or "you do *insert anything physical* like a girl". Which was said in a way that was meant to make me feel bad. I remember thinking, "why is that a bad thing? I AM a girl!" Fast forward to 2013, I was 25 and had 2 daughters. I started going to the gym to try to lose some of the baby fat. I quickly fell in love with lifting and anything fitness related. For the first time in my life I started feeling strong, confident, and actually liked the way my body looked. Plus I was feeling healthier and had more energy. As girls we get underestimated or looked at as weak way more than we should. Lift Like a Girl redefines what it means to do something "like a girl". We lift, run, and push ourselves as hard as we can. Join me and show the world what girls are really made of!

Do I need to purchase equipment?
It depends on the workout! Playbook has a lot of workouts that require no equipment. We also have workouts that require minimal equipment (like dumbbells or a yoga mat) and some that require weight-lifting machines. There’s something for everyone — regardless of equipment — to help you get in shape.
