In 2011, I received a degree in Exercise Physiology. This is when I got my first exposure to the health care model as a fitness specialist. I left with more questions than answers…
I followed this intrigue to Chiropractic school to learn about health and healing. I received a Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2016 along with various movement certifications.
Chiropractic has allowed me the opportunity to help hundreds of people reach optimal physical, mental, and emotional health. But my passion for fitness runs deep from my own personal journey.
For nearly two decades, I exercised to “get big.” I wanted to change who I was and thought changing my physical appearance was the answer. It wasn’t. And I saw little to no changes despite trying every bodybuilding workout and mass gainer available at the time.
Through some research, I learned that I wasn’t alone. Whether it was gaining size and muscle, losing weight, or improving health markers, a large number of people saw few, if any, results when it came to exercising.
I knew exercise was a powerful tool with many health benefits so why did so many people fail to see any changes?
It wasn’t until I began my own personal journey with anxiety and depression that I learned the true power of fitness. Exercise became one of the few things that made me feel like myself again.
I started working out, not because I was attempting to change something that was “wrong” with me but to help remind me of everything that was right with me. I began working out in ways that made me feel good and strong without having to add large weights to the bar.
Not only did I feel like myself again, I felt better. And, my physique started to change in ways it never had before!
When I stopped using exercise to achieve an external result, everything changed. I believe everyone can experience these benefits and it has become my mission to help others see a new way to approach health and fitness.
