Frequently asked questions

What is JOURNEY 41?
JOURNEY 41 is a 41-day devotional series through the book of Exodus. You’ll read 1 chapter a day for 40 days, and on the 41st day you’ll pause to reflect on the whole journey and apply what God has shown you.
Do I need anything besides my Bible?
All you need is your Bible, a journal or notebook if you’d like to write reflections, and a heart ready to hear from God. You will also see reflection questions each day that you can screenshot, print and share. (You can locate these on that day's reading or in the "extras" link) for a full PDF version you can download and print
What if I miss a day?
That’s okay! This is about relationship, not perfection. Simply pick up where you left off and continue your journey. This isn’t about checking a box or completing a task. Come with a heart and mind ready to receive from God. At the same time, stay disciplined and committed — it’s a balance of grace and consistency.”
Can I study this with a group?
Absolutely. JOURNEY 41 works well for both individual devotion and small group study. Reading together and sharing reflections can deepen the experience.
Why 41 days?
Exodus has 40 chapters, so you’ll spend 40 days reading one chapter a day. The 41st day is set aside for reflection and application — looking back on what God has revealed and looking forward to how you will walk it out in daily life. In Scripture, the number 40 often represents a time of testing, preparation, or transition (like Israel’s 40 years in the wilderness or Jesus’ 40 days of fasting). Day 41 symbolizes what comes after the testing — stepping into God’s promises with renewed faith
Do I need to know a lot about the Bible before starting?
Not at all. JOURNEY 41 is designed for anyone — whether you’re new to the Bible or have been studying for years.
What if I don’t understand something I read?
That’s completely normal! The Bible is deep and sometimes challenging. I encourage you to use a solid commentary to help bring clarity. My go-to resource is Enduringword.com I’ll also be sharing my own notes from my personal study to help guide you and provide additional insights as you walk through the Scriptures. Most of my notes are from enduring word so you may see some connections. The main thing to remember-Do not let the enemy win. When you feel discouraged, KEEP READING or pause and come back in a bit. But do not give up. Pray before your studies for God to open your heart and to receive the Word and message. (You will also have a prayer you can read if you need help!)
