Growing up in Florida, being outside & playing sports have played a huge role in my life. From the time I picked up a baseball when I was 6 up until now, being physically active has always been the foundation of my life. As my baseball career came to an end I decided that the act of physically moving my body had to be replaced, which is where I first met the gym. Within my first 2 years of exercising I competed in my high school bodybuilding competition, self trained I ended up coming in 1st place. I then competed in men’s physique a few years down the line taking 3rd place. Very quickly I realized I wanted more as working out for strictly looks/ physique was no longer satisfying me. I wanted both aspects of working out... the physical and the mental. And this is when I made the shift to Functional Fitness. There’s something about testing the body with combinations of movements. I think it’s incredible what our bodies are capable of... being able to run far, jump high, move fast, lift heavy and also look great physically and feel amazing mentally. That’s what it’s all about. I am a NASM certified personal trainer & have done bootcamps, in person and online training. We can learn a lot about ourselves from exercising and moving our body. Now... let’s put in the work!
